  • Each category will be broken down into groups of no more than 12 students by age.
  • Students perform one solo piece for two judges in the morning.
  • Only top winners return in the afternoon for an Honors Recital where awards are presented.
  • Teachers will be notified by 2pm if students need to return for the Honors Recital.
  • All students receive an evaluation, certificate, and ribbon. Ages 4–5 receive a medal and certificate.

  • Any solo piece from any composer is allowed. No original compositions.
  • Music must be memorized — students may NOT use their music during performance.
  • Elementary level repertoire should be at least 8 measures long, not including repeats.
  • Please number the measures in the music for the judges' comments.
  • Repertoire must be played in its entirety — no eliminating measures.
  • Repertoire must have a playing time of 7 minutes or less.

  • A student may enter the competition only 1–2 times per year (one in-person, one virtual).
  • Teachers must fill out the form for each student's entry.
  • Repertoire must be listed correctly at time of entry — no changes after submission.
  • Entry deadline: February 20th, 2027. Teachers will be notified of scheduled performance times one week prior.
  • Students play privately for judges. No family or friends are allowed in the room.

Virtual Category
